Eagles Nest Estate

Colorado, La Plata County, Bayfield – MLS 730137

Eagles Nest Estate is located in the rapidly expanding community of custom built homes in Eagles Ridge at Bayfield, and is poised at the end of the road on 35-acres surrounded by mature, healthy stands of Ponderosa Pines and the lush Pine River Valley. The exquisite, custom-built 5,869 sq. ft., 4 bedroom, 5.5 bathroom, light-filled home is perfectly situated to take in the immense views that the Pine River Valley has to offer.

Upon entering the home, you are greeted with a two-story Napoleon stone fireplace, hand-scraped hickory wood floors, and custom ironwork details. Stately log beams tower overhead with an open loft area including three en suite bedrooms. The kitchen is a gourmet’s delight offering two sinks, stove top, double oven, high-end stainless appliances, a bistro style-eating bar, plus butler’s pantry with wet bar and a walk-in pantry. The dining area sits in an alcove surrounded by large windows overlooking the lush valley below. The master suite is on the main level and has matching walk-in closets, French doors leading to the raised deck, and an en suite complete with a porcelain clawed-foot soaking tub.

The lower level has a gas fireplace in the living room which adjoins the bar area, game room, office and walk-in wine cellar. In addition there is a full bathroom and two storage rooms.

A three-car attached garage provides plenty of room for vehicles and mountain toys. It includes a dog wash station and electric dumbwaiter for bringing groceries up to the main level. Picturesque, perennial gardens line the flagstone patio and walkways surrounding this elegant home. In addition, there is a fenced vegetable and herb garden with raised planters and fruit trees. The outside wrap-around deck allows for al fresco dining much of the year, plus a chance to marvel at the sweeping starry night sky.

Additional storage on the property includes a detached garage for vehicles or a tractor, plus a garden storage shed. To the west of the house is a well-lit patio and to the East a large triple level Trex deck ideal for entertaining and watching wildlife. A productive well with multiple cisterns provides a system with plenty of water for domestic use, as well as gardening. This is a must see property and home if you enjoy privacy, and being enveloped by a peaceful, wooded landscape.
