The 18-hole Hillcrest Golf Club is Durango’s only fully public course. Opened in 1969, the course was designed by Frank Hummel. Hillcrest measures 6,838 yards from the longest tees. It has a slope rating of 125 and a par of 71. Warm up at the driving range or short game practice facility, then play through with views of the La Plata Mountains and Animas River Valley. The course sits atop a beautiful mesa overlooking the city and features four sets of tees for different skill levels.

The 18-hole Dalton Ranch Golf Club is a semi-private course that opened in 1993. It was designed by Ken Dye. The course measures 7,002 yards from the longest tees. It has a slope rating of 138 and a par of 73. Located in the beautiful Animas Valley, this course serves up views of the San Juan Mountains, and Animas River. The club offers a spacious clubhouse, tennis courts, gym, restaurant and pool. It’s the perfect environment for a peaceful and scenic day on the green.
600 Glacier Club Drive (15 miles from the center of Durango)
The private Glacier Club offers two different courses, the Valley Course and the Mountain Course. Both courses offer 18 holes with greens that are bent grass and fairways of bluegrass. The Mountain Course measures 7,035 yards and the Valley Course measures 6,536 yards from the longest tees. Both courses are par 71 and feature five sets of tees for different skill levels. The club has a practice facility and chipping greens where golfers can warm up before a round. With breathtaking mountain views, it’s hard to imagine a more beautiful location to tee off.
