About TBD MS 5401 County Road 20

Come to Ouray County and enjoy your Rocky Mountain Dream! This cabin is perched above some of the most renowned backcountry inAmerica. The location just can't be beat-it's located in the Red Mountain Mining District midway between Ouray and Silverton on two miningclaims that have been combined together to make almost twenty acres. Its straight up from Highway 550-turn at the former town of Ironton andwork your way up Corkscrew for just a short time before hooking left onto the road leading to Brown Mountain. From here you're not far fromthe homesite, but you can follow the well known Ouray County Road 20 to a short access road into the property. The cabin itself it a sweet littlegem--and a major accomplishment! Current Ouray County Alpine Zone guidelines would not allow a structure to be built on any parcel thatdoesn't have at least 35 acres. This was constructed prior to the guidelines being implemented allowing your the security and peace and quietof having your Mountain Escape without having to own a whole country of land. The cabin is made up of a small living room area with a woodstove, eating area, kitchen and an upstairs sleeping loft. As you would expect the views are unbelievable-up and down the Ironton Park area aswell as across the valley toward Imogene Pass and Telluride. Views north are toward Crystal Lake, the Million Dollar Highway and Ouray andsouth toward the Red Mountains, Red Mountain Pass, Chattanooga, the Yankee Girl, Red Mountain Town and Silverton. This little nugget is notfor sissies--you'll need to haul water for now-there are springs and you can put in a well-the septic system hasn't been installed yet- that can beaccomplished too. Heating in the cabin is by keeping your wood stove stoked and letting the soothing high country light come in. Access isseasonal-however nothing would prevent you from hiking, backcountry skiing or snowshoeing in during the winter months. This is a specialspot--one not available without purchasing one of those uber-expensive high country lodges. Come check this one out before it's gone! Note:Seller is a licensed Colorado realtor.
