About Telluride

Nestled in a box canyon surrounded by majestic, 13,000-foot peaks of the San Juan Mountains, the Town of Telluride is filled with colorful legends, over a century of history and Rocky Mountain spirit. A National Historic Landmark District with Victorian-era architecture, Telluride rests at the base of the Telluride Ski Mountain and is surrounded by 13,000-foot (almost 4,000-meter) peaks. Located mid-mountain at 9,500 feet above sea level, Mountain Village overlooks some of Colorado's most beautiful landscapes.

Just six blocks wide and twelve blocks long, the National Historic District is a window into the town's illustrious past and a showcase of spirited individualism and community pride.
